The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Industrial Engineering Technology at Goodwin College is an interdisciplinary management engineering program that reflects contemporary business and technology practices. The degree provides a scientific basis for designing, installing, and operating integrated systems of people, materials, information, energy, and equipment.  The current demand for industrial engineers is high, but the supply of credentialed industrial engineers is limited. The trend toward an automated workplace and demands for greater efficiency in business and industry further enhance employment prospects for industrial engineers.

Drexel is the only university in the Delaware Valley offering a degree in industrial engineering technology. Goodwin's Industrial Engineering Technology (IET) program aims to help students achieve the following objectives:

  • Develop an ability to competently employ broad-based analytical tools and computers for decision-making and system design, analysis, and performance evaluation.
  • Gain exposure to the formulation of problems in specific application areas, including manufacturing, production, logistics, financial and service industries, public policy, and information systems.
  • Experience hands-on learning through design and problem-solving throughout the program.
  • Develop good communication skills through written and oral presentation of their ideas and work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Learn to effectively adapt to the changing demands in the workplace and perform tasks outside their field of expertise.
