Don Jones is a principal at EwingCole in Philadelphia, where he has served for six years on the firm’s Board of Directors. He has also taught as an adjunct professor of architecture at Drexel University since 1986. Currently, he coordinates the fifth-year design studio, which has as its focus the integration of architecture and technology. He has also been a visiting professor at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a thesis professional advisor at Philadelphia University.
Mr. Jones is currently on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Chapter AIA, and has also served on its Design Committee for four years. In the spring of 2005, he was a juror for the ACSA / AISC Student Design Competition at AIA headquarters in Washington, DC.
During his professional career, Don was an associate at Bower Lewis Thrower, where he worked from 1980 to 1987, and an associate at Venturi, Scott Brown and Associates. He joined EwingCole in 1991.
His notable recent projects include research laboratories for Wyeth Consumer Healthcare and Fox Chase Cancer Center, cancer treatment centers for Memorial Sloan-Kettering, and sports venues including Citizens Bank Park for the Philadelphia Phillies. He is currently part of a team at work on a 20-year master plan for the expansion of Fox Chase Cancer Center, and a team beginning a master plan for a new NFL stadium and associated commercial development.
Mr. Jones holds NCARB certification, is registered in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and South Carolina, and is also a LEED accredited professional. |
