Stacey Kara is a dedicated and experienced Business Administrator with over 20 years of budgetary, legal, and managerial experience.
Kara joined Drexel University in 1997, working in the Registrar’s Office and then in 1999 moved to the Division of Administrative and Business Services to manage real estate leases and property expenditures for the Center City Campus clinical practices. One year later, contract negotiations were complete and a strong relationship between landlord and tenant was established.
Kara returned to the University City Campus within the Facilities Management department in which she assisted with financial operations along with the management of departmental capital project tracking.
In 2001, Kara was promoted to Director of Business Operations, where she oversaw the financial and personnel operations for Student Life and the University's auxiliaries. From 2004 to 2006, Kara served as the Director of Budgets for the Division of Administrative and Business Services, and in 2007 she was promoted to the Executive Director and in 2009 to Assistant Vice President of Business and Finance, reporting to the Senior Vice President. In December 2011, Kara was promoted to Associate Vice President of Finance and Administration. She possesses an entrepreneurial spirit encouraging her colleagues to think "outside the box" while promoting a strategic approach to improve operations across the division.
Kara holds a Master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Drexel University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Widener University and an Associate's degree and certification in Paralegal Studies from Pierce College.
