Winter Start Students
Health Insurance Requirement: All full time students are required to demonstrate proof of health insurance each academic year. Drexel University offers a Student Health Insurance plan through Aetna to all students who do not have health insurance coverage. Students are able to demonstrate proof of insurance through a waive process or enroll in the Drexel sponsored plan on line.
All students must remember to complete their Health Insurance requirement. The deadline date for winter start students to comply with the health insurance policy is January 30, 2012. Failure to complete your Health Insurance requirement by this date will result in default enrollment into the Drexel Student Health Insurance Plan for the remainder of the academic year.

Students interested in waiving or enrolling in the Drexel sponsored plan please note that the deadline date is January 30, 2012. ANY FULL TIME STUDENT WHO DOES NOT EITHER ENROLL OR WAIVE BY JANUARY 30, 2012 WILL BE DEFAULT ENROLLED INTO THE BLUE PLAN FOR THE FULL ACADEMIC YEAR. THE CHARGE OF $1862.00 WILL BE PLACED ON THE STUDENT BILL. ONCE THIS CHARGE IS PLACED AND YOU ARE ENROLLED IN THE PLAN IT CANNOT BE CANCELLED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR AND YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PREMIUM AMOUNT.

Click Here for a tutorial on how to waive your health insurance! If you have your own health insurance that meets our minimum requirements you may also waive the Drexel coverage by following the below instructions:
- Go to the Students tab at the top of the page
- Click on Find Your School
- After entering Drexel choose your campus from the list provided
- From the menu on the left hand side click on Medical Plan/Enroll/Waive. To waive or enroll please follow the directions on that site. Once you have completed either the waiver or enrollment you will receive a confirmation number verifying you have successfully completed the process. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT YOU MUST EITHER WAIVE OR ENROLL BEFORE January 30, 2012. ALL STUDENTS MUST EITHER WAIVE OR ENROLL IN THE DREXEL HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY ACADEMIC YEAR..

International Undergraduate Students will be default enrolled into the Drexel Health Insurance Plan. The only plan that will be accepted in lieu of this coverage will be Embassy sponsored coverage.
