Fitness Assessments
Fitness Assessments calculate exercisers’ baselines and serve as tools to track physical fitness progress and health improvements. An assessment can determine physical strong-points and areas for improvement. Assessments can help beginners get started on improving their health or seasoned exercisers build upon their previous routines.
Here at the Drexel Recreation Center we offer three different options for Fitness Assessments:
Basic Fitness Assessment
A 30-minute assessment of the major components of physical fitness – body composition, cardiovascular efficiency, muscular endurance and flexibility. Interpretations of results, compared to the national standards based on age and gender, will be given on the spot. Results provide a baseline to assist members in tracking their own progress.
Cost: Complimentary
Comprehensive Fitness Assessment
This 2-part assessment goes above and beyond. The first session includes an in-depth evaluation of health history, cardiovascular risk, biometrics, posture and physical fitness assessments. A thorough review of the assessment by a Personal Trainer will result in a take-home Health Action Plan with specific recommendations as well an exercise routine to help you meet your goals.
Cost: $99**
**The cost of this assessment is $99. If a client purchases a Personal Training package after undergoing a Comprehensive Fitness Assessment, a $99 credit will be applied to the PT package.
Body Composition
Body composition is used to describe percentages of fat, muscle, and bone tissues in the human body. Body fat percentage and distribution will be measured using skin-fold calipers, BMI and circumference measurements. Leave with a better understanding of your baselines and how they can impact your health. The Recreation Center's knowledgeable staff can estimate a healthy body weight and provide exercise and nutritional advice to members based on their results.
Cost: $10 with Drexel Discount, $19 for non-Drexel affiliates
