Adult Swim Lessons
The Drexel Recreation Center offers swim lessons to adults who wish to learn to swim or improve their skill level in a group setting. The adult participant will work directly with their instructor to outline specific individual goals and objectives they have for the course. Each session is offered over 4 weeks, twice a term.
Drexel Student: $25 / four-class session
Recreation Center Member: $35 / four-class session
Beginner Lessons
The beginner class helps clients become more comfortable in the water. Instructors work with participants to outline individual goals and objectives while providing basic swimming lessons.
Intermediate Lessons
At the intermediate level, clients will work on basic strokes including the crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke. Open turns, proper body position and breathing techniques will be emphasized. Participants will be swimming the length of the pool (25 yards) as they work on their skills and be comfortable in deep water.
Advanced Lessons
Advanced lessons are designed for advanced swimmers who want to work on their stroke. Concentration is on coordination, refinement and endurance of the front crawl, back crawl, the elementary backstroke, breaststroke, and sidestroke. Other skills that may be introduced are butterfly stroke, flip turns, and increase endurance and conditioning.
