Did You Know?
As part of Drexel University's commitment to environmental sustainability, the Recreation Center features an integral glass façade and roof light scoops that eliminate the use of electric lighting during the day in 87% of the interior occupied space. Outdoor surfaces collect storm water to be re-used for flushing toilets. Ellipticals are also designed to generate power back into the building's power grid.
Overview
Opened in February 2010, the state-of-the-art Drexel Recreation Center is the fitness hub in University City. The Recreation Center is committed to providing a lasting and meaningful impact on the health and well-being of its members. The center serves as a symbol of Drexel University's commitment to the health of the community—both in body and mind. Cognizant of the importance of wellness and an active lifestyle, this 240,000 sq. ft. health and recreational complex promotes and encourages personal fitness, and lifelong health through diverse program offerings, including:
