S.A.F.E. Program
The S.A.F.E.
(Self-defense Awareness Familiarization Exchange). Program is a 2 hour
self defense
program that serves a dual purpose:
To
prevent crimes of sexual violence in our communities through
programs of education and training, focusing primarily on awareness
and prevention.
|
| To educate women about realistic options that will help them avoid, escape, and survive assaults if they do occur. |
S.A.F.E.
is a unique course that provides
participants with valuable information on how to become more aware of
their surroundings. Participants will learn five simple defensive
techniques. The program is taught by
certified Drexel University Department of Public Safety
personnel.
S.A.F.E. educates women on how to protect themselves from crime and
introduces pre-basic physical training
familiarization methods which are non-strenuous. Each
participant will be given a portfolio with more awareness information
than is contained in the brief course.
The S.A.F.E. program is based upon the following ideas: Violent crimes
are crimes of opportunity, and when you remove the element of
opportunity, you reduce the risk of attack. Ninety percent of
self-defense is mental preparedness, ten percent is physical and YOU are
your best defense.
Come and let's have some fun while learning how to keep ourselves…
