Personal Care Attendants

Although Drexel University does not provide attendant care, the Office of Disability Services (ODS) provides courtesy information for students who are searching for personal care attendants.  Students often find attendants through personal contacts or agencies that provide the services throughout the city.  Students are encouraged to call LRI at 215.581.0666 (V) or 215.581.0664 (TTY) for referrals or information on employing and managing personal care attendants.

Subsidized personal care is available through Homemaker Services funded by the PA Department of Public Welfare for residents of Philadelphia, Bucks, and Montgomery counties. We encourage students to plan ahead, as there is generally a waiting list for this service. Students are responsible for arranging and financing their own attendant care services. These services should be secured prior to attending classes.
