Emergency Evacuation

Drexel University is committed to the safety and well-being of all of its students, employees, and campus guests who have disabilities. When campus members and guests who have a disability believe they will need assistance in an emergency situation, it is the responsibility of the person who has a disability to self-identify and register with the Office of Disability Services (ODS). When auxiliary aids, accommodations, and services are not requested by the person who has a disability, but assistance due to the disability is requested in an emergency situation, registering with ODS is necessary. When a consent-to-release form is completed in ODS, the ODS staff will provide a reasonable notification to emergency response units on campus, at the time registration with ODS is complete. For additional information regarding registering with ODS, go to: Registering with the Office of Disability Services.

The City of Philadelphia, or state and/or federal entities are responsible for emergency response in Philadelphia, as appropriate for the situation. For questions regarding the evacuation process, contact the Department of Public Safety.
