Course Substitutions
A course substitution may be a reasonable accommodation request, but a student’s eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis by the Office of Disability Services (ODS). When a course is an integral aspect to a program or the documentation does not support the accommodation request, a course substitution will not be granted. If a course substitution is approved by ODS, the student has the responsibility of sharing their accommodation verification letter (AVL) with those the student is requesting the accommodation from. For receipt of the course substitution, the AVL needs to be shared with the Academic Advisor of the student’s major program of study. For additional information about requesting accommodations or AVL’s, go to Requesting Accommodations or Accommodation Verification Letter.
