Adaptive Technologies
The Office of Disability Services (ODS) secures adaptive technologies on-campus for use by people with disabilities who are registered with ODS. Adaptive technologies may include softwares, such as: screen readers, voice recognition, and screen magnification. Adaptive technologies may also include CCTV’s, Daisy CD players, and other equipment which will allow a person with a disability to have the opportunity to participate in Drexel University’s programs and activities. In order to use adaptive technologies at either the University City Main Campus, Center City Hahnemann Campus, or Queen Lane Medical Campus, people with disabilities need to register with ODS for the receipt of reasonable accommodations. For additional information about requesting accommodations and registering for services, go to: Requesting Accommodations and Registering with the Office of Disability Services.
Location of Adaptive Technologies
ODS places adaptive technologies and equipment in various locations at Drexel University, in an attempt to provide equal access to the campus community. When students and employees are eligible for reasonable accommodations, technologies may be placed in locations in order for the University to provide accommodations, and then moved in order to meet future accommodation needs of students and employees who are eligible for adaptive technologies as a reasonable accommodation.
