| | Mission/Description: Drexel Cycling Club exists to promote the sport of cycling and heighten involvement, knowledge, experience, and enjoyment of the sport by putting cyclists in contact with each other through meetings and mailing lists, organization of regular group rides, and attendance of events such as races and charity rides. Two main activities of the club are representing Drexel University in collegiate road and mountain racing competitions, and participating in Philadelphia-area training rides. Collegiate racing provides students with the opportunity to compete with their peers including college students from many different universities, and is an excellent introduction to racing. The club also works to introduce students into the local Philadelphia cycling community, particularly through attending popular area rides, so that they may get the most out of the sport, and will be more likely to continue cycling and living a healthy lifestyle after graduation. |
