Memorial Day Primer & Tribute to Drexel’s Fallen

Please join Drexel’s Army ROTC, the Drexel Veterans Association and the Veterans Task Force on May 17th for a day of remembrance and appreciation for members of our nation’s military who have served or are currently serving.  Members of the Drexel community are invited to attend any or all of the events planned on the drill floor of the Armory, located on Drexel’s campus.  The day kicks off at 10AM with the USO’s “Christmas in July” program; roll up your sleeves and help the USO assemble care packages on the drill floor of the Armory.  A Picnic lunch is scheduled to begin at 11:30AM along with a “Card Writing Campaign for Soldiers”.  Promptly at 12-noon,  the University community will gather to remember Lt. Christopher Mosko, a 2007 graduate of Drexel University who recently lost his life in Afghanistan.  The ceremonial tribute is entitled, “A Patriotic Primer on Memorial Day” and includes music, reflections, original works of poetry, a tribute to Lt. Christopher Mosko, the presentation of the first Chuck Sabin Army ROTC Award,  and other contributions that are sure to help you make Memorial Day more meaningful.

Nikon Camera

Nikon D3100 Training Session
Drexel University's Photography Club will host training sessions on the new Nikon D3100 camera. Digital single-lens reflex (D-SLR) cameras allow for manual control of many key features, producing higher quality photographs than most simple point-and-shoot cameras. Attendees will learn basic digital photography techniques & how to properly use the camera.

Training sessions last about one hour with time for questions at the end. Only students who are successfully trained will be able to rent the Nikon D3100 directly from the Office of Campus Activities for free.

To request a training session, contact
Sarah Michelson at dsophoto@drexel.edu.
