Recycling is pretty easy in Philadelphia.
It's also the right thing to do.
What can I recycle?
Plastics and cardboard are recycled in single stream areas only
When is recycling day?
Recycling day is every other week on trash day in most areas. In order to find out when your recycling/trash pickup day is send us an email at email@example.com or follow these simple steps:
What kind of container can I use?
Any sturdy metal or plastic container with the word "Recycling" marked clearly on its side will do.
The container must 20 gallons or less (use multiple containers if you need more than 20 gallons) and are for glass and cans in dual stream areas.
If you would like an "official" recycling bin, you may visit the UCD at 3940 Chestnut street between
the hours of 8:30AM and 5:00PM, or visit one of these locations.
What is "Mixed Paper"?
Items such as newspaper, magazines, clean food boxes, books, mail - junk and regular, phone directories are some examples of what mixed paper is.
