Interact with OCA via Social Media! -------------------------------------------------------------- Memorial Day Primer & Tribute to Drexel’s Fallen Please join Drexel’s Army ROTC, the Drexel Veterans Association and the Veterans Task Force on May 17th for a day of remembrance and appreciation for members of our nation’s military who have served or are currently serving. Members of the Drexel community are invited to attend any or all of the events planned on the drill floor of the Armory, located on Drexel’s campus. The day kicks off at 10AM with the USO’s “Christmas in July” program; roll up your sleeves and help the USO assemble care packages on the drill floor of the Armory. A Picnic lunch is scheduled to begin at 11:30AM along with a “Card Writing Campaign for Soldiers”. Promptly at 12-noon, the University community will gather to remember Lt. Christopher Mosko, a 2007 graduate of Drexel University who recently lost his life in Afghanistan. The ceremonial tribute is entitled, “A Patriotic Primer on Memorial Day” and includes music, reflections, original works of poetry, a tribute to Lt. Christopher Mosko, the presentation of the first Chuck Sabin Army ROTC Award, and other contributions that are sure to help you make Memorial Day more meaningful. Contact Information: -------------------------------------------------------------- Drexel Green Grants 2012 For the fourth consecutive year, Drexel Business Services is pleased to present Drexel Green Grants as part of the university’s initiative to encourage the development of environmentally aware practices and creative thinking with regard to sustainability issues. $24,000 in grants will be awarded to students and $3,000 in Barnes & Noble gift cards to faculty, staff and alumni for the 2012/13 academic year. In 2011, Drexel University officially announced its partnership with the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. It is in this historic affiliation between the Academy and Drexel that will promote discovery, learning, and civic engagement in the natural and environmental sciences and further enhance Philadelphia’s reputation as a leader in scientific research and education. What are your ideas for how the partnership between Drexel University and the Academy of Natural Sciences can further sustainability? Ideas may include exhibits, academics, programs, activities, research, collaboration and anything else that you can imagine happening!
