    Windows 2000

There is no set standard for the Windows 2000 operating system as to where you can set up WEP encryption for your wireless connection. Please refer to the specific software that was installed along with your wireless card.

    Mac OS X

When you try to connect to the dragonfly wireless network you may be prompted for a password. The WEP key is that password. Simply click the AirPort icon in the menu bar (OS X) or control strip (OS 9 and earlier) and select dragonfly. When prompted for the password, enter the WEP key, check the box to Add to Keychain and then click OK. If you encounter any problems going through these steps there are more detailed instructions below.

    1. Either click on the System Preferences icon on the bottom of the screen or from the Apple menu click on System Preferences.
    2. Click on the Network icon.
    3. Click on Airport.
    4. Click on the "Connect..." button.
    5. Click the arrow box for Network, select dragonfly.
    6. For Wireless Security, select WEP 40/128-bit ASCII.
    7. Type in the WEP encryption key in the Password field.
    8. Click the OK button.

    Mac OS 9

If you haven't already, please try the quick steps that are listed directly under the Mac OS X heading and if you are still unable to connect, proceed below with the detailed instructions.

    1. Click on the Apple menu and then on AirPort.
    2. Click the triangle next to Settings to expand it, if necessary.
    3. Click the drop-down for Choose network and select dragonfly.
    4. You'll see a dialog box stating that "The selected AirPort network requires a password to join".
    5. Enter the WEP key into the Password box.
    6. Click the checkbox next to Add to Keychain then click OK.
    7. Press Apple-Q to quit the AirPort configuration utility.

You must also make sure that you have registered your wireless card for the dragonfly network. If you need to do that please go here. If the above directions did not help you connect to the wireless network please call the Help Desk at (215) 895-2698 or bring your laptop to the consultant's desk in the fron of the Korman Center.
