What To Buy
Since the main advantage of a wireless network is portability, a laptop computer makes
the most sense as the kind of computer you should buy to use DragonFly. Many non-computer
devices such as "smartphones" and game consoles also support wireless networking.
DragonFly supports several WiFi standards, including 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11a, and 802.11n.
The 11b standard dates back to 1999; the 11n standard is so new that it won't even be official
until 2009. If possible, you should buy a computer that supports all four standards; it is
unlikely that many non-computer devices will support 11n before 2010. The 11n standard runs
up to six times faster than the others and has greater range. If you can get 11n, do it.
Then What?
If your wireless device can see the dragonfly3 network, get the instructions to connect to dragonfly3.
If you cannot connect to dragonfly3, you will use dragonfly or dragonfly2, but you must register your wireless device and manually enter the encryption key.
