    DragonDrop

Rich Media Conversion Project (RMCP) Web Interface

    Overview

DragonDrop, formerly the Rich Media Conversion Project (RMCP), is a feature rich , multi-institution enabled, web-based application for capturing, encoding and publishing rich media for web access. It significantly simplifies the process of getting audio, video, text and other rich media formats into highly compressed and streamable formats suitable for web delivery.

DragonDrop is a tab-based web application (graphic) with a Web 2.0 enabled user interface. Some of the features include the ability to::

    • · Encode content into up to six output formats simultaneously
    • · Add metadata to all content, including title, descriptions, "tags" and comments
    • · Capture web-cam video and/or audio for ad-hoc podcasting / vodcasting.
    • · Create playlists as content aggregations and freely add, change or delete content from playlists at will
    • · Secure playlist content via password, share playlist content with others, hide playlist content and set temporal viewing windows for access.
    • · Search for content through the use of playlist and item metadata
    • · Track encoding and publishing progress through a "Tracking" tab
    • · Create surrogate users who can act in your behalf
    • · Access content via secure URL and via RSS syndication.

Please review our DragonDrop Overview (PDF) for a more complete introduction.

No longer do new users have to request registration. All Drexel Faculty and Staff are authorized to use DragonDrop.

If you are a new user, just attempt to log in using your DrexelOne credentials (username and password). DragonDrop will first check your authentication and then check to see if you are Drexel Faculty or Staff. If both authentication and authorization pass, you will be automatically added to the DragonDrop system and will have immediate access to the DragonDrop web-application.

If you were a user of the original version of RMCP, then your content and authorization has been migrated to this new version. You will be presented with the new DragonDrop interface upon login.
