Below, is documentation on how to either disable file sharing altogether or enable secure file sharing.
Again, it appears as if this can only be done in Safe Mode through a local administrator account.
The options for sharing folders in Windows XP Home are limited compared with those of earlier Windows OS's.
1) Right click on the folder or file you wish to share, click on properties and then click on the Sharing tab.
