How do I start Side Note?

Side Note can be started by clicking on the OneNote icon on the task bar. The Side Note section in OneNote will be the window, smaller than normal.

If you would like Side Note to stay on top of your other windows so that it's always available to take notes, you can use the Keep Window on Top button (this will be the button with a push pin icon on the Side Note toolbar.)

NOTE: You can also make an audio or video recording while you take notes. To start audio or video recording, click the Audio and Video Recording button (this is the button with a microphone icon on the Side Note tool bar.) See audio and video section for more information.

You will need a microphone to record audio notes and a camera to record video notes. NOTE: Some table PC’s have built in microphones but the recording quality might be greater with an external microphone. To Start Recording, go to Tools, select Audio and Video Recording. If you are using only audio, right click the Open New Side Note icon in the notification area, at the far right of the Windows taskbar, and then click Start Recording Audio on the shortcut menu.

NOTE: A video note will include audio and video unless you mute the audio on the camera or mute the audio input level on the computer How long can I record? The length of recording is only limited by the amount of free space you have on your computer. Where are my audio and video files stored?
