Tutorials for the Microsoft XP Office Professional Suite

The Microsoft Office XP Professional Suite is the set of applications made available free to every member of the Drexel Community since September 2001. Interactive tutorials are available to help you learn:

    • Microsoft Word 2002
    • Microsoft Excel 2002
    • Microsoft PowerPointŪ 2002
    • Microsoft Access 2002
    • Microsoft OutlookŪ 2002

These tutorials are included with the disks you pick up at the Library. They are on Disk 3 of the Office XP set. They cover basic to intermediate use of the each applications in OfficeXP. You can run them from your machine, and you can also print out any pages which you think might be especially useful to have on paper.

These tutorials let you actually work on a typical screen of whatever application you wish to learn. You will receive instruction about what to do, have a chance to do it, and then receive feedback about how well you have done. You can take each tutorial as often as you wish; you can spend as long as you wish working, stop, bookmark a page, and then return later; you can take the tutorials in sequence or in whatever order you wish. Sometimes you can ask for more information on a topic.

To load the tutorial onto your machine simply insert Disk 3 and follow the instructions. It is most convenient to load the complete set. However, all the tutorials take up approximately 167 MB of disk space. If you do not have enough disk space to load all the programs you can run most of the program from the CD; you just need to load the basic intro part.

You can keep the tutorials on your computer as long as you wish. If you need to reclaim the disk space, simply go to the Start Menu, select Settings, select Control Panels, and double-click on Add/Remove Programs. Click on Change/Remove Programs, click on Microsoft Interactive Training, and select Change/Remove and then Remove All. If you wish to use it again you can always reinstall it.
