    Telephone Menu Availability:

Policy and Procedures: Drexel University's phone system has the ability to set a limited menu for call distribution. This can be set up to service a department or groups within a department.

The system will allow callers to dial one main number and be offered choices, for example: for billing inquiries press 1, for payment information, press 2. Such a system can help guide callers to the appropriate party without the necessity of a person answering and transferring calls.

Those interested in making use of this feature should do some internal planning to determine the levels of branching and number and types of selections you would like. This should all be written out and discussed extensively within your department and group. A tree diagram is a great way to go about planning and implementing this process.

When your internal planning is complete, please send an email to: telephone-request@drexel.edu. Our Telecommunications Specialist will contact you to set up an appointment to review your plans.

After the meeting, when a final plan is developed, you must have that plan signed by your department head to indicate approval for the proposed changes. After receipt of the signed change proposal, IRT will implement the menu system within five working days. There is no charge for this service.
