    The Basics

    Auto Dial:To the Contents!

    Auto Dial lets you program a specific telephone number by pressing a feature key.

    To store an Auto Dial number:

    1. Without lifting the handset, press . The associated flashes.
    2. Dial the number.
    3. Press again.
    4. Press a free line key or lift the handset.
    5. Press . The stored number is dialed automatically.

    To display the Auto Dial number:

    1. Press .
    2. Press . The number is displayed.
    3. If you want to clear the display, press again.

    Placing a call on hold:To the Contents!

    To place a call on hold:

    1. Press . The flashes beside the line on hold.

    To return to a held call:

    1. Press the line key with the flashing .

    Transferring calls:

    To transfer a call to another extension:

    1. Press . The other party is on hold and you hear a dial tone.
    2. Dial the extension that you want to transfer the call to.
    3. Press again, either when you hear ringing, or after you talk privately to the person you are transferring the call to.

    Using Hands free:To the Contents!

    If your telephone is an M2616 or M2008HF model, you can use the built-in microphone and speaker instead of the handset. At any time during a call, you can switch to the handset by picking it up. You can also mute your microphone so that the other party cannot hear you speaking.

    To use hands free on a call:

    1. Press or a line key instead of picking up your handset.
    2. Press to end your call.

    To mute a hands free call:

    1. Press . The flashes.
    2. Press it again and return to the two-way conversation.

    To switch from the handset to Hands free:

    1. Press .
    2. Hang up the handset.

    Making Calls quickly and easily

    Conference:To the Contents!

    You can set up a conference for up to three or up to six parties, including yourself. See your telephone system administrator to find out the number of parties you can join in a conference.

    To set up a conference:

    1. While on a call, press . The other party is on hold and you hear the dial tone.
    2. Dial the number of a third party to add. When the call is answered, you may talk privately with the third party.
    3. Press again to include all three parties.
    4. If necessary, repeat the procedure to include up to three or up to five parties in the conference. Four parties on the phone plus yourself.

    Last Number Redial:

    Last Number Redial allows you to automatically redial the last number you dialed.

    To use Last Number Redial:

    1. Press a free line key.
    2. Press or press the line key again.

    Ring Again:To the Contents!

    If you receive a busy signal when trying to reach someone in your office, Ring Again automatically redials that number and lets you know when that person is free.

    To use Ring Again:

    1. Press when you get a busy signal.
    2. Hang up or press .
    3. When you hear the Ring Again tone, select a free line.
    4. Press to automatically dial the number.

    To cancel Ring Again:

    1. Press before you hear the Ring Again tone.

    Stored Number:To the Contents!

    The Stored Number feature allows you to store a single telephone number that you can dial quickly. You can easily change the stored number.

    To store a number when you're not on a call:

    1. Without lifting the handset, press .
    2. Dial the number.
    3. Press again. Any number previously stored is replaced.

    To store a number when you're on a call:

    1. Press after you dial the number.

    To display the stored number:

    1. Press .
    2. Press . The number is displayed.
    3. If you want to clear the display, press again.

    To call the stored number:

    1. Select a free line.
    2. Press .

    Speed Dial:

    To Program:

    1. Without lifting your handset, press .
    2. The will flash.
    3. Enter the one-digit Speed Call Code from (0-9).
    4. Enter the complete telephone number and press to save.
    5. Repeat for all Speed Call Codes.

    Handling Calls

    Call Forward:To the Contents!

    Call Forward allows you to send your calls to another extension. You cannot forward calls while the telephone is ringing.

    To forward your calls:

    1. Press . The flashes.
    2. Dial the extension that you want to forward your calls to.
    3. Press again. The remains on.

    To cancel forwarding:

    1. Press . The turns off.

    To reinstate Call Forward to the same number:

    1. Press twice. The turns on again.

    To display the number to where you are currently forwarding your calls:

    1. Press .
    2. Press . The number is displayed.
    3. If you want to clear the display, press again.

    Call Pickup:

    Using Call Pickup, you can answer a ringing telephone from any telephone in you Pickup Group or another Pickup Group.

    To answer a ringing call in your own Call Pickup group:

    1. Lift the handset.
    2. Press .

    To answer a ringing call in another Call Pickup group:

    1. Lift the handset.
    2. Press
    3. Dial the pickup group number of the ringing telephone.
