Electronic Mass Communication
To facilitate electronic communication among large groups of networked
computer users, Drexel University offers web services, newsgroups,
and electronic mailing list services to all academic and administrative
departments, colleges, registered student organizations*, and other
recognized university groups.
Individuals affiliated with the universities (faculty, staff, students)
may create web pages associated with their own Drexel computer accounts.
For information about posting web pages at Drexel, see http://www.drexel.edu/irt/support/webits/.
Any electronic resource (web, newsgroup, mailing list) must have
an individual who acts as owner/manager and is responsible for the
contents and maintenance of the service. All electronic communication
at Drexel is governed by the Acceptable Use Policy (see http://www.drexel.edu/irt/policies/acceptableUse.html).
* Registered student organizations are those that have been approved
by the Director of Student Activities.
Mass Email
The preferred method of communicating with all members of the university
community is the web. If you need to communicate with a select group
within the community, a mass email option is available.
Mass emailing options include:
All requests for using a preconfigured list or for new mailing
lists must be sent with appropriate authorizations to mailreq@drexel.edu.
For additional information, send inquiries to mailreq@drexel.edu,
or telephone Beth Davis Hazany (215-895-2911) or Ruth Matson (215-895-2686).
Please do not attempt to send out mass mailings from your email
account. Such mailings are a violation of university policy; they
are wasteful of computing resources and they risk compromising the
privacy of your recipients.
