Services Offered at Drexel University
Time and Material
T&M Service Hourly Rates for Equipment not under Warranty or
Covered Elsewhere:
- $25.00 Warranty (Manufacturer's Warranty) research if required.
- $42.00 On-site and carry-in repair of hardware, upgrades, and basic
operating system
- $75.00 On-site and carry-in repair of printers, including dot matrix,
ink-jet and laser printers.
- $90.00 On-site repair of local area networks, file server and networked
peripherals, complex operating system repairs, communication diagnostics.
Time & Material Contract does not include parts. Requires Purchase
Order before work is started.
New Computer Installation
- $42.00 Installation of new Dell Computers and peripherals. Hourly
rate includes delivery, unboxing, setup, software installation,
software CD image installation, Internet and email connectivity,
network printer configuration, file server access, relocating old
PCs to storage.
- $75.00 Installation of new Lexmark network printer.
- $90.00 Installation of new Dell Computers and peripherals, data
transfer from old to new PC, reassignment of old PC to another user.
Warranty Enhancement Contract
Warranty Enhancement for new computers, offers on-site support,
coverage from the date of purchase for 48 months fully utilizing
and extending manufacturer's warranty and resource of the Computer
Fixer. Includes labor, parts, and depot repair charges.
- Cost: 48 Months
- 10% includes Manufacturer' s warranty
Example: Computer, display and printer are purchased for a total
of $2,500.00. Using the stated rate cost for a 48 month contract
is $250.00 (one time fee) at time of purchase.
Terms
- Contract becomes effective on the date of equipment purchase.
- Contract to be purchased at the time of equipment purchase. No later
than Ninety (90) days after the date of purchase.
- Contract encompasses (1) CPU and up to (2) peripherals (@ a maximum)
- Contract encompasses peripheral in greater value of $499.00
- Copy of purchase order with proof of purchase and serial number
of equipment must be given to Computer Fixer. Computer Fixer will
collect serial numbers for tracking.

Our Annual Hardware Maintenance Contract includes:
- Asset Management
- On-site Service
- All parts and labor (excluding consumable)
- Loaner
- One Annual cleaning and inspection
- Unlimited service calls.
Response Time:
- For emergency service calls received prior to 12 noon, our technician
will respond that day
- For remedial maintenance service calls received, our technician
will respond the following day.
- Please note: Annual Maintenance Contracts are limited to (1) hour
of operating system support per PC for Microsoft Windows 95, 98
and Microsoft NT.

Faculty & Student Support Center On Campus
The Computer Fixer on Campus has set up a location on Campus in
the Korman Center Basement. The facility is set up for Students
and Faculty to bring their own personal computers in need of service.
