Dear Future Colleagues,

Thank you for considering joining the Institutional Advancement organization at Drexel University, a private, nonsectarian coeducational university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Drexel University, founded in 1891, is committed to achieving excellence in the creation and transmission of knowledge. Belief in the power of experiential learning and emphasis on pragmatic education, has prepared our students, staff and scholars for leadership roles. In every area of undergraduate, graduate and professional education, our students and our faculty move beyond the classroom in their search for knowledge and personal meaning. A top ten ranked co-operative education program, world class research programs and creative activities all facilitated and enhanced by technology, combine with exceptional classroom experiences to produce the Drexel education of the 21st century. This “uniquely Drexel-way” has resulted in our ranking of 29th place among America's top private doctoral universities. The Center

President Constantine Papadakis, one of the most highly regarded leaders in American higher education, has provided the University with steadfast leadership over the past decade. He is committed to creating a first-rate Institutional Advancement organization that, like the University, fully utilizes technology, recruits the top talent in the field, rewards initiative and creates a cohesive and collaborative team. To learn more about Dr. Papadakis’ transformational leadership, please review (www.drexel.edu/papadakis/).

Poised to embark on a major comprehensive fund raising campaign, our organization is focused on recruiting experienced, entrepreneurial development professionals and providing a culture that fully supports those team members in achieving not only the campaign goals, but their own professional potential. It is the philosophy and practice of Institutional Advancement to invest in the professional development of its associates. For example, we have engaged Advancement Resources, one of the top organizations providing training for development professionals to present a series of workshops on the campus for every IA associate for an entire week in April of 2007. (http://www.advancementresources.org/ ).

If your experience, competencies, professional and personal aspirations match with the positions posted on our web site, I encourage you to submit a cover letter and resume so we may explore with you the possibility of joining an organization whose culture can be described as dynamic, innovative, supportive of an individual’s professional growth and entrepreneurial.

Sincerely yours,
Elizabeth A. Dale, Ed.D.
