Introduction

What is A Healthier U?

A Healthier U is a comprehensive, campus-wide wellness program aimed at improving the physical, emotional and financial well-being of all Drexel University and Drexel University College of Medicine students and employees. The goal of this program is to foster a healthy, positive and productive campus environment for those who live, learn and work at Drexel.

A Healthier U is designed to improve the lives of our students, faculty and staff with the best resources and services available to achieve and maintain an overall healthy, active lifestyle. The initiative is a collaborative effort led by the office of Human Resources, Recreational Athletics and Student Life.

Who can take part in A Healthier U programs and services?

A Healthier U is open to all students, faculty and staff of the Drexel University and Drexel University College of Medicine.

How much does it cost?

A Healthier U offers a variety of wellness services to students, faculty and staff, including the Drexel Recreation Center. For membership rates, information or additional questions about memberships, contact the Membership and Marketing Director at ppb25@drexel.edu or 215-571-3513.

Is Drexel Recreation Center membership reimbursement offered to employees?

The Blue Cross Healthy LifestylesSM program allows employees who are managed care Blue Cross carriers to receive partial reimbursement for their membership. For more information, please contact a Blue Cross Healthy Lifestyle representative at 1-800-ASK-BLUE. The Welcome Center at the Recreation Center has additional healthy lifestyles brochures available to log your workouts.

What types of programs and services are offered?

A Healthier U offers physical, emotional, and financial wellness services and resources to students, including health and recreation programs and activities, learning discussions, student health insurance, mind/body/spirit classes, and comprehensive medical care.

Faculty and staff are invited to take advantage of healthy lifestyle programs, employee assistance programs, stress management programs, employee lecture series, core and voluntary benefits, and retirement counseling.
