How to Obtain a Work Study Position

All information has been sampled from the Financial Aid website.

1) Check DrexelOne to make sure that you have been awarded a Work Study grant.

2) Review Job Listings (Main Campus listings, Center City/Queen Lane Campuses listings) and apply for a position.

3) Wait to hear from the campus office associated with the position you applied for.

4) Once you are offered and accept a position, if you have never worked for the university before, or have not worked at all within the university in the last three years, you must go to Human Resources (3201 Arch Street, Suite 430) to fill out New Hire packet.
-Make sure you bring appropriate forms of identification:
           a) Drexel Student ID/Driver's License AND Original Birth Certificate/Social Security Card
           b) Valid, Current Passport
           c) Refer to Acceptable Forms of ID on the Human Resources website

5) Your department will submit your job information to Financial Aid.  Financial Aid will enter the information into the system.  HRIS will then retreive the information and enter it in Banner.  Once your job has been entered in Banner you will see an Employee Resources tab in DrexelOne, under which you can access your timesheet to submit the hours that you have worked.

6) Once you start your job, monitor your work hours to ensure that you do not exceed your Work Study award. (Award increases are not normally available.)

7) Follow the procedures as indicated by your department to submit timesheets to receive a paycheck.
