Who We Are
The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) department administers the information systems that empower the Human Resources area, including Staffing, Employee Relations and Benefits as well as the Payroll and Finance departments. Our mission is to transform the way you work! The HRIS team supports, analyzes, maintains and continuously improves administrative services by working to meet University goals through effective planning, design, implementation and training , while keeping abreast of evolving technologies.
What We Do
The Human Resources Information System (HRIS) department was constructed to be a one stop shop for the management of both the Human Resources system and Finance salary budget tasks. HRIS assists administrators in managing financial records through position control, while providing information systems support of Human Resources by use of the SunGard SCT Banner system.
HRIS is responsible for defining Human Resources system needs. To ensure that these needs are met, HRIS works closely with technical representatives from the IT department to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve processes within the system. HRIS also assists administrators with position control, which includes the establishment, review, control, maintenance, and reporting of the University's annual salary allocations, which are necessary to ensure University compliance controls.
Through the implementation of these services, administrators are able to better perform their daily jobs by using Web applications developed by Drexel for Drexel. HRIS continually strives to enhance the integrity and relevance of HR information. Among the goals that HRIS has set forth are developing a paperless working environment, developing and leading proactive system plans, providing administrators with web-based training to develop new business leaders, and establishing an effective channel of communication between managers. Achievement of these goals will lead to a streamline workflow, while creating maximum accuracy, reliability, and validity of the workforce data.
